A list of math-related registered student organizations (RSOs) at UIUC.
Special Interest Group for Mathematics (SIGma)
A Special Interest Group for math and algorithms at UIUC. This is the place to learn about theoretical computer science and meet people who are also interested. We hold weekly meetings covering a different topic broadly relating to some central theme for the semester. This club is just as much for those who are new to pure mathematics and theoretical computer science as well as those who already have a deep interested. The only prerequisite is an interest in learning math and theory.
Directed Reading Program (DRP)
The Directed Reading Program (DRP) is designed to connect graduate student mentors with undergraduate mentees for an in-depth exploration of a mathematical topic or text that lies outside the standard undergraduate curriculum. This one-on-one setting offers a unique opportunity for undergraduates to delve into advanced or specialized areas of mathematics with personalized guidance.

Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM)
Mathematical Advancement Through Research and Idea eXchange (MATRIX)
ACM ICPC Special Interest Group (SIGICPC)
SIG-ICPC is for anyone who enjoys competitive programming or challenging algorithmic problems, but is particularly targeted towards those who want to do well in ICPC competitions. We meet every week to explain how to solve problems that appear in ICPC and other programming competitions and to practice solving challenging problems.
You do not need to be a computer science student to participate in our practices or the ICPC competitions – we welcome everyone who has an interest in learning algorithmic programming!
